Whites Creek High School Town Hall Meeting
When: October 9, 2007, X:00pm
Where: XXXXXX
Why...
The WCHS Alumni Association and Exec. Principal Dr. Jamie Jenkins are dedicated to ensuring that Whites Creek students succeed. To ensure we succeed we need the help of ALL alumni & the community. The Federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act of 2001 set new standards for all students to meet. Whites Creek High School has been identified by the Tennessee Department of Education as a “High Priority 2” school. That does not mean that the school did not improve or is not a good school; it just means that the school did not reach goals set forth per the NCLB.
This means WE have work to do! One of ongoing goals for the 07-08 school year is to support the school in any endeavors. A town hall meeting will be held on X:XX pm October, 9th at [location]. We’re asking all alumni and members of the WCHS community to come out and support. Help us spread the word!
Although Whites Creek made improvements in the Graduation rate, there is still more work to be done. The reason the school on the high priority list is that we did not hit targets in the areas of reading, algebra I and attendance
The WCHS staff is working very hard to ensure the success of the students. We all believe progress will continue to be made. Your involvement and support with the Association and the school is critical for success.
Feel free to contact the Alumni Association (alumni@whitescreekalumni.org) if you have suggestions, comments or questions.
